Empire Poker Review

Empire Poker

Is an excellent and well established Poker room. If you have played at Party Poker you are familiar with the way the Empire Poker room. These two poker sites shared the same server and customers for years until they split in 2005. Empire poker took a small share of the customers with them, but they have still retained their status as one of the sites with the largest number of players.

The quality of their games is excellent with lots of extremely loose games. Besides the many Texas Hold'em games Empire Poker offers great Seven Card Stud and Omaha, both high and high-low, everday of the week.

Software and Features:
IGlobalMedia software powers all games at Empire Poker. You have to download the software to play your games. The software is the same as that used by Party Poker, although the two no longer share tables.

The players are represented by characters in a chair, which I prefer to empty chairs. Each chair has two characters, one for male and another for female players. There is a box that is overlayed on your character displaying your screen name and chip stack size. Putting the mouse on top of that box pops up a small box with the player's hometown.

The chatbox is small, but the dealer chat is detailed enough for you to catch up on a hand in case you make a quick trip to the fridge or the phone.

The note-taking function is great. You can take notes on more than one player at a time, and the windows do not disappear if you need to act before you finish taking your notes. There is also plenty of room on the notesheet.

If you have notes on a player, there will be a small notesheet displayed on his character. This way you can recognize the palyers you have already taken notes on.

The room offers full and short tables for most games. Full being a 10-man table and short being 6-man action. There are 9-man tables as well.Players can set up private tables, with password protection so you can have private games. But, they are not available in all game types and limits. Private tournaments are not offered.

You can play your games in the language of your choice. You can choose any suitable language from English, Danish, Chinese, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Norwegian, Turkish, or Swedish. Games are available in US Dollars only. 128-bit encryption ensures maximum security and privacy.

The best feature is arguably the instant hand histories available. In the upper right hand corner there are links to the hands recently played. You can click on these, and the hand history will pop open. Also, in these hand histories you can see the hands that were mucked at the showdown. If you make use of this feature, you can gain a lot in insight into your opponent's play quickly.

Bonuses and Player Rewards:
Empire Poker offers bonuses at regular intervals of two to three months. This is normally 30% of the deposit amount with a maximum limit of $150.

- New players can receive a bonus when signing up and depositing for the first time.
- They also offer a standard 20% Bonus on a player's first deposit up to $100.
- Reload bonuses come regularly to their regular players.
- Empire Poker also has a VIP club and a Tournament Masters player's club program for their consistent players.

The most popular game is fixed limit Texas Hold’em but there are many tables open on the other games as well, mostly due to the big player volume. Besides fixed limit Texas Hold’em Empire Poker also spreads no limit Texas, Omaha both high and high-low and Seven-Card Stud both high and high-low. The single table tournaments are also very popular and there are many running.

The rake is ok besides on the low limit tables where the rake can be 10%. $0.5 rake on a $5 pot. Empire Poker has a loyalty program called the VIP club that awards regular players. Play Now!
