CD Poker or Club Dice Poker Is one of the newer poker rooms with high-tech software and special sound effects. They offer very loose play since a lot of traffic is coming from the Playtech's casinos like the Club Dice Casino. Established in 2004, CD Poker is part of the iPoker network of online poker rooms. With great promotions, fabulous looking Playtech software it is a strong competitor.

CD Poker serves up three poker games (Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo) and some other casino games including BlackJack and a few Video Poker-type games, all of which can be played for real money. CDPoker does not, however, offer 7-Card Stud. Compared to most other poker rooms, CDPoker has smaller ring game stakes that range from penny stakes to just $5/$10 max for no-limit and $10/$20 max for limit. CD Poker also has MTTs that frequently attract 50-100 players (or 500 for their daily freerolls), 6 and 10-player sit & gos, as well as heads-up tourneys. The MTTs start with $2000 in chips for each player and the sit & gos start with $1000.
Beginners should not miss this poker room. A great poker site to learn the game since they are offering a free poker school even before you register. For the advanced poker players, grab a chance to double your bankroll in just a few hours.
CD Poker.com Software
CD Poker is a sophisticated gaming experience that captures that much-sought-after feeling of a real-life poker game. With graphics that would attract any online gamer, CD Poker gives you the opportunity to play poker, with great design and feel.
CD Poker has the unique option of allowing the player to view the tables in either the typical bird's-eye Top View or in the seated player's point-of-view called Side View. Both look nice, but the Side View is especially neat. It has 3D animated avatars that actually move. And their actions are spoken by the characters. If you haven't seen this before, it's worth a look.
The CD Poker table window is a bit large and in the default Side Chat mode, the added chat window makes it especially bulky. CD Poker offers a Table Chat mode that gets rid of the extra side chat window and instead gives you a small, floating chat window that may be moved around within the table window, but curiously, this mode doesn't allow you to type anything into the chat.
With CD Poker's graphical hand histories showing images of all the cards, the histories look pretty, but functionally, I found them to be awkward to read and use. And, at this time, CD Poker offers no simple way to request specific hand histories via email like other poker rooms, although the CD Poker site claims you can request your complete game history by writing to customer support.
Traffic
The traffic is still quite low at the iPoker Network that consist of Fair Poker, Noble Poker, Titan Poker, SIA Poker and Prestige Poker. They offer traffic up to 1500 at peak hours at CD Poker over both ring and tourney games with the weight on tournaments. One can assume that this will raise during the year.
The games are very loose at CD Poker since a lot of traffic is coming from casino players wanting to have some action. The marketing strategy is quite hard, graphic is very good and advanced so an increase of poker players is to be expected.
Tournaments
The tournament traffic varies between 2000 and 2500 simultaneously connected players. Here you can play sit’N’go satellites, heads-ups and all the jackpot games at stakes going from low dollar games to beyond $100. Regular, scheduled tournaments are also very populated.
Quality of Players
The quality of player at CD poker is something which will be considered either an attraction or a turn-off by different players. While it’s not quite of a high enough standard for any player to consider it as pitting their skills against the best in the online poker circuit, it is just high enough to make consistent profit difficult. This, of course, can be looked at as either an advantage or a disadvantage, either as breaking even but getting plenty of practice or as wasting time making significant progress with neither your game nor your bankroll.
It is most likely the lack of traffic at this poker room which tends to lead to a higher standard of player, or looked at another way, which keeps the schools of clueless fish in another pond. The lack of high-roll action is another reason for the scarcity of easy pickings here, which is a pity since, as any good player knows, a large amount of bad players with deep pockets is always desirable. CD’s association with casino play will always guarantee some weaker opponents, while a good low-limit Omaha player may find some soft targets as there aren’t likely to be many other good players in this discipline due to the limited number of games available.
CD Poker.com Bonus and Promotions
CD Poker offers a 120% first deposit bonus up to $700!!! This is an enormous new player bonus offer. Earning the bonus sounds relatively simple, but I'm sure it's not that easy. Just play 10 times the bonus amount in raked hands. So, if you deposit $500 for a $600 bonus, you would need to play 6,000 raked hands. The only trick is that the session stats reset each time you log out and there is no way of checking your cumulative raked hands played. No such account info is available right now, so you don't know how many more hands you need to play to earn the bonus.
Regarding their player points system, iPoints (still under development), CDPoker's website has this to say: "iPoints are CDPoker's unique player reward program – players will accumulate iPoints as they play in ring tables and in tournaments and will be able to exchange them for tournament entries and other exciting prizes."
CD Poker has potential. The animated, talking 3D avatars are a fun change of pace from the norm and the action isn't completely lacking, but CDPoker still needs to finish what they've started. Once CD Poker completes the features that are still under development, perhaps they could attract a larger and more loyal player base. Play Now!
